Other Info: The decision of where to take flight training is
important - quality must be paramount. As a reputable school with
history spanning over three-quarters of a century, the Ottawa Flying
Club (OFC) has provided top of the line training for many years.
The OFC is known for excellence in aviation. It is a commitment to
quality education that led the Canadian Space Agency to choose the OFC,
not only in 1984, but again in 1992 to provide flight training to their
astronauts with the NASA bound "Canada Astronaut Program." The OFC is
very proud of this accomplishment. Out of all the other Canadian flying
schools, NASA astronauts took their pilot training at the OFC.
The OFC is located at the Ottawa International airport, which has
been referred to as the "Gem of Canada" for pilot training. The ability
to experience the highest level of controlled Terminal airspace in
Canada during everyday training, yet with its own 3300 foot runway and
none of the delays experienced at similar airports; without exception,
sets the OFC apart from all others in the country, and most others in
the world.
The OFC program for full-time Commercial Pilot students is the
Professional Pilot Program. This program is a one-year full-time
curriculum leading to the issuance of a Commercial Pilot Licence,
Multi-engine rating and Instrument rating, as well as most of the theory
required for the Airline Transport Pilot Licence exams. With over 500
hours of groundschool, this quality program has been very successful and
attracted students from around the globe to the campus at the Ottawa
International Airport.
A career as a commercial pilot career is an exciting and challenging
profession. Professional pilots are highly trained and entrusted with a
great deal of responsibility - you have chosen a great profession.
Email info@ofc.ca and ask for an
information package on the Professional Pilot Program to get your career
started.
